The UTP102 and UTP40 are highly-integrated, self-contained, system-on-a-chip DPS ICs that support high-density analog instruments:
1) UTP102: 5V / 400 mA
2) UTP40: 9V / 1A.
However, for applications that require higher voltage capability, or higher current capability than is economically feasible with channel ganging, the UTP chips can be configured as a Power Amplifier Controller (PAC mode) to support any voltage or current required at the DUT.
PAC mode allows a test equipment manufacturer to develop a modular DPS instrument that is easily customized, or can easily support multiple DPS instruments with the same hardware and software platform, with the same feature set, simply by developing a new power amplifier, which is a small, fast, inexpensive and modular design effort.
